Strutters to Perform in the Capital Ex Parade PDF Print E-mail
Written by Stephen McConnell
Thursday, 25 June 2009 22:42
The Strutters are pleased to announce they will be returning to the largest and most anticipated parade event in Edmonton for 2009.

After a 3 year absence, the Strutters will be seen once more in the Capital Ex Parade, Edmonton's biggest parade of the year.  This year, the Strutters are offering the crowd an unprecedented performance. For the first time in the Corps History, they will have their alumni marching with the current members as special "Guest Performers".

The Strutters wish to welcome back all their alumni who will be dusting off their marching shoes to once again "Wow" the crowd. This promises to be an event that we will remember fondly for years to come.

If you would like more information on this event, please contact the

Corps Hotline: 780-473-3584.

The Strutters Receive Support from Husky Energy! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Stephen McConnell

Sincere thanks go out to the Husky Energy Corporation for choosing to include us in the Community Rebate Program!

This is a unique opportunity that allows supporters of the Strutters to give back to our organization simply by doing something they have to do on a weekly basis anyway - fill up their gas tank.

But it goes much further than that. Every time one of our supporters makes a  purchase at a Husky or Mohawk station or Husky House Restaurant, they simply ask the attendant to swipe their rebate card through the card-reader, and Husky will automatically register the value of all purchases made and send a payment for 2% of the total to the Strutters.

The Community Rebate program is incredibly simple. We provide you with a rebate card, and ask you to fill up at Mohawk or Husky when you fill your tank. The proceeds of this program will go directly to support our cause.

You can use the rebate card at more than 450 Husky and Mohawk stations from Ontario to British Columbia, so you don't necessarily need to be from Edmonton to provide your support. You can also travel and support our organization every time you fill up, buy groceries and other convenience store items, get your car repaired or enjoy a Husky House meal.

Another great bonus about the Community Rebate Program is that Husky pays for all the membership cards and all the administrative costs including tracking of purchases, so this program is a wonderful way to support the Strutters, as all the funds raised go directly toward supporting our organization.

This program is an incredibly powerful way to raise funds. For example, if 1000 supporters filled their gas tank at Husky every week, at an average of $30.00 a fill (economy car size tank) The Strutters would receive approximately $30,000 dollars that year in rebate funds from Husky Energy.  You can now see why we're incredibly excited about this opportunity!

If you would like to support the Corps by receiving a rebate card, simply email the Corps at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your name and address and we will have a card mailed out to you.

Or, you can contact us at the Corps Hotline: 780-473-3584.

Once again, Thanks to Husky Energy for their support!

The Strutters Junior Corps had a great time participating in the Beaumont "Daze" Parade. The students got their first experience with a longer and fast moving parade route, but were real troopers seeing it through to the end. Congratulations go out to all of our students for showing great perseverance, and providing the crowd with an excellent performance once again.
