Our Drum Corps Program seeks to enhance musicianship, create precision, develop leadership, promote athleticism, and provide unique and dramatic performing opportunities for the youth it serves.

A Drum Corps can best be described as a "fusion" of athletic sports and music education.

It is divided into four groups, with a wide array of equipment and instrumentation.

Marching Brass: (Trumpet, Mellophone, Baritone, Tuba)
Marching Percussion: (Snare, Bass Drum, Multi-Tenors, Cymbals)
Stationary Percussion: (Auxilliary Percussion, Stationary Cymbals, Concert Bass, Tympanis, Keyboards, Chimes, Bells, etc.)
Colourguard: (Movement/Choreography, Flags, Sabres, Wooden Rifles, additional equipment and props)

The Drum Corps is our primary performing ensemble. The group will have opportunities to perform representing our organization in our City, Province, throughout the Country and on International tours.

The focus of this program is to perform competitive field shows, and participate in both local circuits and the Drum Corps International Summer Music Games tour. Individual sections, such as the Colorguard and Marching Percussion will also be offered various Winter Competition opportunities.

Over our 42 year history of performing, our Drum Corps program has seen many successes. The Corps has been 1st place winners in Edmonton's Capital Ex Parade over 10 times, and they are the reigning Northlands Goldrush Musical Showcase Champions. The Strutters have also won many other awards and accolades, as well as performed for many high-profile events. They are Drum Corps International World Championships Finalists (2004), acheived 2nd place in Canadian National Championships (1990), and have performed for the Queen of England, among other accomplishments.
